Serving 180+ girls across Miami-Dade County
Girls Inc. of Greater Miami provides free in-school and after school programs to help girls develop skills in Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Responsible Decision Making and Relationship Skills. We combine lasting mentoring relationships, research-based programming and a pro-girl environment to equip our girls to graduate from high school with the capacity, determination, and support needed to become strong, independent, confident women.
Our unique approach uses an evidence-based transformative Social and Emotional Learning model (SEL) implemented within a gender-sensitive framework to create equitable learning environments. Our trained facilitators inspire our girls to advocate for themselves, develop healthy habits and move past gender stereotypes to explore STEM careers. We teach concrete coping strategies that help girls and their families better understand emotions that drive action in order to avoid negative thinking and behavior.
